Yeah, interesting piece of work for yet another addition to the Big Psychoanalytical Interpretation of this "why-we-all-love-it" subject.
Maybe Spike TV can puts its smarts together and conjure up a PPV sub-channel or something and make this into some sort of limited Next Big Event (which I probably would see); or, maybe a "Catfighting for Dummies" book is in order (which I would definitely pass up).
(Not to sound like an iPod stuck on replay, but as I've said numerous times on Barb's former boards:
Just leave in--and ENFORCE--rules for safety. One has to be a sadistic moron to "enjoy" real-life, vicious assault and injury where all hell breaks loose.)
Wow, that idiot was the kind of all idiots. Look how lame this dude is~
THE IDIOT WROTE~In the catfight, sex and violence go together like Sonny and Cher. Like the Captain and Tenille. Like K.C. and the Sunshine Band.
This guy really should get outta the 70's and live life in the reality of today. He states its sad that women now "fake" fight or "stage" fights for men to enjoy. So basically although this guy first claims its some what WRONG and a sick perversion, he then goes on to say its not a real catfight and he doesn't like them when they are faked/staged. He mentions a catfight isn't real unless its only fighting for a male or money? Not even considering any other senerio that happens in life. I've seen two chicks almost go at it for real because one was wearing her cloths ... I've seen women fight plainly because of one simply talking trash behind her back. The list goes on. A catfight can also be defined as two women disagreeing and verbally fighting. It takes on a lot of meanings and I just find it funny when people who dont claim its their fetish or knowledge about them and yet suddenly they are the know it alls of it and the decider of its domain. Shut up please.
Actually, I agreed with some of what the guy said. But, he is just a columnist. Like most of them I disagree anyways. In actuality hes just a critic like everyone else. He can say anything he likes ... we just dont have to agree with him or anyone else.
He generalized about the catfight thing anyways because to go on about them youd miss tons of aspects, companies and senerios. Not all catfights end in a kiss or lesbianism. Not all are totally violent. Not all are sexual. Not all are sporty. He never mentioned that yes theres tons of "Catfight" sites, but they cater to various persons. They always lapse that.
[Since Sketchy brought up this subject afterwards and separately in *her* new thread (and I said something in reply there), I just want to say here I think what you said was also on target, but you brought out the points with a much good analysis, whereas I never bothered. (Alas !, I hafta give *her* the credit for initial support.) Like Nathan5 said, the article was disparaging, but I just wanted to say it, too, was interesting (at least how the author expressed his views), but he (obviously) missed a whole lot of factors--and misunderstood a whole hell of a lot of others--about what real fans of F-vs-F like and want.]
