Oh ya well I'd give my right kidney!!! Just kidden. You know how much money you can make from selling an organ? Christ, with that money you could get a bunch of chickies to wrassle for ya!!!
Yeah, well, I want those particular two honeys, so they'd know they could charge me pretty much anything.
I'm quite disappointed that the current fad of superhero movies hasn't resulted in a single noteworthy woman-on-woman brawl. A concern over ratings, maybe? Sure, there was Halle Berry in the final X-Men movie, but that was the kind of frantically edited, thoroughly unenjoyable faux ju-jitsu that could just as well have been performed by men.
I want a screaming, growling, hair-pulling, mask-scratching, breathless, tooth-and-nail superheroine catfight. (Please.)
The problem with Hollyweird stupid heros is they feel the need to break the mold of women who struggle, moan and act sexy while fighting. Like the lame-ass wwe they feel the need to push sexuality via costumes, not entirely what they do or suppose to do which is fight and/or wrestle like most women do. They add masculinity(sp) into it and ruins it for everyone!
I've said it before ... reasons hollywood F's up their women fights? The bitches want awards not hard-ons. Lets face it even those into karate and marial arts can agree that todays "blockbuster" movies that feature chick fights have that garbage all over it. That being too much kicking and karate chops and not enough real physical, emotional and aggressive fighting ... you know what happens in REAL life. So I really don't get hollywood. If they want to impress or atleast be REAL because we all know reality is key now a days maybe they should add some skin, hairpulling and moans and groans. And not just in their sex scenes!!!
DC and Marvel are way too protective of their major characters to allow them in anything like a catfight on the big screen. That's why the few fights that make it are either mixed male/female brawls or long distance martial arts for the fem/fem fights. You can thank VinnieMac for buggering this up. His continued ham-fisted, misogynistic portrayals of female fights and fighters keeps the genre mired in the tawdry for the mainstream. As long as the general fan views female fights/fighters as something prurient, or at least the movie industry thinks that's how they are viewed, we'll never get anything that we fans find satisfying.
Well, I doubt that producers of superhero films really need to be concerned about winning any awards. (Or do the MTV Awards count?) And, sure, most female fights have probably failed for the reasons stated, but there's also been sheer incompetence. Uma Thurman's villain in Batman & Robin was certainly feminine in both character and theme, but her fight with Alicia Silverstone was like two androids pouncing on each other. Their trash talk was gender-oriented, but dull and unconvincing.
Well, in both the case of Batman & Robin and Catwoman, the fault lies solely with the directors. Uma Thurman proved her chops in the Kill Bill movies -- given the proper direction, she's a thoroughly convincing fighter. In fact, the fight scene between Uma and Daryl Hannah (right?) was probably the best fem fight I've seen in the movies. Joel Schumacher has proven his skill as a franchise killer only, and I don't even remember who directed Catwoman (thankfully!).
And look at dreck like "Punch." An entire movie supposedly framed around female fighting and the lead character threw like three punches in the entire movie! The topless boxing sequences had potential if they hadn't used the same overweight gal in all of them.
The problem is directors are conflicted about how to showcase female fighting. If it is not a straightforward thing like boxing (Million Dollar Baby) or wrestling (All the Marbles) they can't get past their teenage giggles over catfights and ripped blouses. Mores the pity for us.
