Now available at www.fightingstyle.com totally free via clicking on the banner right from the group photo of the more than 20 participants. It's consacrated to the Fighting Style event which has recently taken place in Greece, on the shore of Aegean Sea . Besides being well-presented I contains a good dose of humour. Enjoy!
P.S. For those who are curious: I have no financial liason with the company though on good terms with the owner and do support his activity on our scene which so badly needs fresh approaches.
Two American entrants, Sybil Starr and Lia LaBowe were the stars of that Greek tournament as they dominated all their opponents in real competitive action. Most of it was submission wrestling, but there were some catfights, too. I can't wait to see the complete videos from that match. And yes, I too am not affiliated with Fighting Style. I just love real competitive f v f action.
Are they not the company that put down every other fight site when they first opened? Saying they were number #1 even though it was their first week? I think they had the sack to down DWW and another great company (on their homepage) which helped them promote?
I suppose everyone makes mistakes in advertisements & in business. Its better when fans actually do some foot work for a company/site. They must be doing something right. Will have to check em out.
You know what ...I think I did make a mistake. The site was called house of wrestling. My error. The site itself reminded me of that company. They might even use some of the same women?
What they did was about a month or so when they opened (not a week. I will be more prescise) they wrote on their frontpage that companies like DWW were down a massive % in memberships because of their new site. Basically boasting the wrong way. They also bashed another site ... I forget whom. And this was after DDW helped them with some behind the scenes stuff (I do believe) linked them etc.
Ofcourse now that I feel like an ass and named the wrong company I could be wrong about DWW helping them, but I remember this on barb's board many moons ago. It all clicked when everyone above was like "what the hell are you talking about".
I've just asked the owner where such rumours might be rooted.
He explained there was a comical picture, a cartoon or something like that where a FICTIONAL character was reading a fictional financial newspaper with headlines like "DWW stocks are 2 points down"(not memberships, not massive and not because of the site's opening). When this innocent joke caused a wave of anger(some people totally lack any sense of humour) the pic was immediately removed.
P.S. I have no info of DWW helping FightingStyle in whatever way.
Oh ok then I was right and you say you got it directly from the source. Doesn't matter if it was meant to be innocent or comical. The bottom line is people, other companies didn't find the humor funny. And lots remember.
I attended the Fighting Style event in Greece, and Sybil and Lia were certainly the stars of the show. Some excellent performances by some of the other girls as well.
However, just one small correction to the post by Barry18. In fact there was more catfighting than submission wrestling. As the unofficial record keeper for the event there were 25 submission wrestling matches out of a total of 58 matches.
Thanks for the correction Ian. I do know that 5 of the 6 matches Sybil had in Greece were submission grappling with the other being a catfight. It is interesting though that catfights did outnumber the grappling contests. Perhaps this is due to the fact that many of the women were not as skilled as some previous competitors like Nandia and Jenny. It generally takes less wrestling skill to be in a catfight as compared to a submissions match.
"It generally takes less wrestling skill to be in a catfight as compared to a submissions match". Interesting observation, Barry, but I do not 100% agree . Unlike USA where mostly trained and skilled women compete in grappling, there is an entire genre in Europe which could be called "next-door girls wrestling". DWW, ASfilms, FightingStyle offer a lot of specimen of this genre.
Also it depends on what do you mean by "catfights". For me catfight is a version of so called "mixed fighting" where you must know not only wrestling technic, bt striking technic as well
I tried to post a list of matches from Greece '06, but the formatting went all haywire. I pasted it into the message from an excel document. Anyone got any ideas as to how I can post it successfully??
Here are the matches from the first day of the tournament. I just copied and pasted your post from the Fighthing Style members forum. I do not want to steal your thunder, so I will let you post the rest of the matches from the other days of the tournament, unless for some reason you prefer that I do it.

Fighting Style, thank you very much for the great site and even more... a very big thanks for the genuine competitive matches you offer us (submission or catfighting). My dream was to see my wife fighting against one of your girls and that dream came true. The girls I witnessed in the 2006 event in Greece were very talented (Lia and Sybil were the best wrestlers and very special ladies) but it was also very difficult to compete even against a newcomer and unfortunately my wife knows this better.
