Happy Labor Day!  btw

There's a movie coming out called "Whip It" starring Drew Barrymore, Julliette Lewis, Ellen Page, and Zoe Bell and it is based on a true (supposedly) story about the Texas Roller Derby League.  I've attached some promo pics from it.  If nothing else, this is the best Drew has looked in ages, but anytime she doesn't have that douchy Mac guy on her arm is a plus.

Who knows, maybe we'll get a latter day KC Bomber movie out of this.

The pics are from this month's (I think) issue of Vs Magazine.

You must be on Hollywood'd advance V.I.P. press release list because this is the first I've heard of it.

The trailer looks kind of cool - outcast girl (Ellen Page) finds roller derby as an outlet for her true self, blah, blah, blah. It's Drew's directorial debut, the trailer has a few fight moments, but hard to say, the entire movie has a bit more of a coming of age thing feeling. Could be kind of funny, though.

Comes out Oct 2.

That perception likely increased when she admitted recently that she "loves a good girlfight".    :) :)
