Anyone bought from them recently? Have any of you become of member of the online club? Speaking of members of online clubs, where has Big Chris gotten to?
I'm looking forward to the responses to your questions. I've bought videos from them in the past and the service was very good.
I've thought about joining a few times because the fee certainly is reasonable and you seem to get a lot for the money, but what stopped me was hearing they have a very high-pressure sales pitch once you show interest in something and that I don't need ; not even from a female wrestling producer.
I remember a post about someone having a hard time getting them to cancel their subscription. I got caught up in something like that with another site ( not wrestling ) and it's something I don't want to put up with again.
Anytime I subscribe to a site now I want it to be non-recurring or have a clear 'Cancel My Subscription' tab visible before I join.
The site still adds this annoying floating banner at the top of the screen, it doesn't adequately separate its competitive movies from its fantasy movies, its so-called "free downloads" are in fact not free at all, its advanced search function is programmed exactly opposite to what one would expect, and I'm sure I've unsubscribed from its mailing list at least five times without ever subscribing to it in the first place.
I bought one of their clips which was advertised like this: "This 100% real, competitive match features two relative newcomers to the mat who, while somewhat lacking in wrestling skills and experience, possess a strong will to win." In fact, they possessed a strong will to walk away with their paycheck. The competition consisted in one girl shoving her opponent to the mat, lying down flat on top of her, pinning her arms, and watching the clouds to pass the time. Honestly, even the staged Modelfight videos are more competitive than that. Until they withdraw that product description and apologize for it, I'm going to assume that this really is their idea of competition and that all their competitive videos are similar to that one.
The No. 1 principle objective and goal for Anal Spiel is making money. She'll be the epitomy of kind customer service up until the point you don't go along with her disingenous sales pitch and then she'll turn nasty on you. She does this with a large number of people I've been in contact with. Usually starts making empty threats about taking legal action against you for disagreeing that the description of one of her products as "100% real aggressive competitive catfight action" turns out to be a poor quality fun roll around between two playful women. The legal threats are intended to scare the truly naive of our world and sometimes works for her. But those who see through her rhetoric usually warn others that APL is a company with a very bad reputation for getting argumentatively nasty with their customers when they don't go along with everything compliantly.
She's full of bull ****; always has been. Don't waste your money funding a company run by such a disingenuous woman as Anal Spiel.
Oh, and the products are predominantly ****, forgot to mention that.
I was a member fairly recently. She has a lot of content on her site. The download speeds from her site are really slow. They tried to tell me that the problem was all on my end, but I work with computers and know that wasn't the truth. You can't use a downloader on her site, so say hi to carpal tunnel city. With some improvements it could be a bitching site, but I doubt that will happen. Some of the matches are scripted so that they can get certain types of highlight videos. That was what got me. In one video, the winning wrestler had the other girl down and was prepared to mount her, but then she dropped down and tried to apply a headscissors and didn't even know how. That's because one of the catagories of video is headscissors. I love it when one girl mounts the other so this totally destroyed the video for me.
